Liz Afif is an atmospheric moody painter whose paintings explore
the human condition from her own particular perspective. She received her MFA in Painting from Pennsylvania Academy
of the Fine Arts in 2002 and her BFA in Two Dimensional Fine Art from Moore College of Art and Design in 1996. Some
of her more notable exhibitions include a solo exhibition at The Argentine Embassy in Washington DC and at Stapely
of Germantown. She has been included in Philadelphia Sketch Club Small Oils Exhibition the Perkins Center
for the Arts Works on Paper exhibtion and received honorable mention in the Small Works exhibition at The Plastics Club in
Philadelphia. She owned Afif Gallery in Philadelphia where she curated a variety of exhibtions was regularly
featured in Libby Rosof and Roberta Fallon's Art Blog. She also continues to curate in alternative venues
such as Square Inch Gallery in NYC which she co-founded with David Resnick and at the Center for
Dermatologic Surgery in Marlton, NJ, where the juried exhibition "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" was
reviewed by A.D. Amorosi for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Afif lives in Philadelphia with her boyfriend James Fisher and
their dog Boris.
